Gatineau Store
Troy and Leslie decided to take the plunge and open a Monster Store, 6 weeks prior to Halloween. After driving around and seeing the excitement building at other Monster Stores, they felt that head office had the support and systems in place to pull off a store opening in a short amount of time. They felt confident that they had enough time to make it a huge success. Troy has a full time business as a cabinet maker and Leslie has a full time job taking care of Zachary (4) and Max (11 months). Not being able to be on site full time, they recruited their daughter Tara and her boyfriend to run the store on a daily basis. Leslie managed the overall operation while Troy continued to run his Cabinet Making business.
They quickly found a 5000 sq ft warehouse on a main traffic artery. Within 8 days of committing to open a Monster store, they were open for business. With no retail experience they all found the Monster product training program to be very helpful. Within no time, the store looked amazing and they could not help but be excited by all of the positive feedback from customers.
The season ended up going so well that on October 30th Troy hired a truck to drive 10 hours to pickup more product because they were almost sold out and feared that they would not have anything left to sell on October 31st (the big day) They plan on opening two Monster stores for the next season and are now looking at starting a Cody Party franchise as a full time business.
